What is Microblading, HDmicroblading and  PhiBrow?

Having a good eyebrow is what both men and women want. Yes, it does enhance one’s looks and makes the face pretty and beautiful. Even one wrong hair plucked can change the dynamics of the face.  For the same, Eyebrow embroidery has been set a trend among people all across the world. To reconstruct the brows, fill the gaps or even cover the over-plucked areas, people go for microblading also known as  Eyebrow Embroidery. It makes your thin eyebrow line thicker also.  Also drawing the eyebrows regularly becomes a tedious task and lot many procedures are painful too. That is why Microblading  and  HD brow also known as 3D or 6D eyebrow embroidery came into being. They make your brows look beautiful without drawing them. But are these both techniques same or different in one or another way. Well, let us look at in what terms they differ.

There are 3 techniques used namely Microblading or 3D embroidery and HD Brow also known as 6D embroidery. With microblading technique, In Microblading or 3D  eyebrow embroidery, stroking technique the microblades are further seporated. People having thin eyebrows go for this method as the outcome of the procedure is bold, thicker and stronger eyebrows.

The HDbrow or  6d eyebrow is a relatively new procedure which is done with the help of very thin blades instead of the machine or needles in the Microblading / 3D method. The outcome of the procedure is more of natural eyebrows which looks similar to what a person’s actual eyebrow hairs are.  Those having thick eyebrows and wanting to go for lighter and fine looking brows can opt for HDbrow / 6D eyebrow embroidery. The PHIbrow is like the HDbrow but suited for those who have NO eyebrow hair due to over plucking or medical reasons such asalopecia. The PHibrow creates a whole new and naturally looking eyebrow for the client. 

History about both techniques

It is said that the microblading Eyebrow strokes were first used several years ago in Asia.  As the time and years passed, the micro blade needles became thinner which resulted into naturally defined brow hairs.  There are many techniques in this as well and all of them has particular different application depending upon the strokes, thickness, and placement. While microblading or 3D embroidery has been in use for years, the HDmicroblading technique is new one having thinnest needles to produce thin, fine and crisp hair brows.


Application of both the techniques takes time. It is said that it requires around 2 hours of time to apply both the techniques and there is not much of time difference in them.  The procedure involves adding the color pigments onto skin and filling up the empty spaces. The feather mechanism is usually used providing natural look as color pigments used are the color of the brow making them look more natural.  Both the procedures are used by millions of the people across the world and is very effective, in terms of cost as well.

After taking free consultation and deciding upon which one to go for, following steps are taken for fulfilling the procedure.

The brow beautician Romy will take the drawing of your eyebrow.
Then she will be applying a cream which will numb the area. The numbness will be felt after 15-20 minutes of application.
The procedure will then start and last for about 1.5 hours.
After the procedure is successfully completed aftercare cream is applied.
A touch-up session is required in the procedure which is done after 6 weeks.

All 3 of the procedures have the same method only the result differs. The effect of them will easily last for a year. But again it depends on how you take care of it.
